Investors agree to buy Lexmark for $3.6B

A consortium of investors led by Apex Technology Co. Ltd. and PAG Asia Capital agreed to purchase Lexmark International Inc. for $3.6 billion.

The company's Lenexa, Kan., operation, dubbed Lexmark Enterprise Software, is expected to continue unaffected.

Lexmark, a $3.7 billion global technology company, plans to cut 550 jobs in the next year on top of 500 layoffs it announced last July. The company manufactures laser printers and provides enterprise software.
