Intuit agreed to pay a $141 million settlement to resolve allegations of deceptive advertising for TurboTax.
New York Attorney General Letitia James and eight other state attorneys general argued the ads made false promises of free tax preparation services.
Intuit officials said there's no admission of wrongdoing under the terms of the settlement.
