International police organization Interpol elected a new president.
South Korean Kim Jong-yang was chosen over controversial Russian frontrunner Alexander Prokopchuk. The latter has been accused of improperly using Interpol's warrant system to target Kremlin critics.
Interpol's former president, Meng Hongwei, went missing on a trip to China in September. Chinese officials have since said he was detained for allegedly taking bribes.
