Memphis-based International Paper Co. is closing a Kansas City packaging plant.
The decision means the layoffs of 132 employees, who will be offered severance packages.
International Paper Co. officials said the move that includes three other plant closures is separate from a recent announcement that the company would lay off 650 employees nationwide.
