While Intel reported stronger-than-expected fourth-quarter results, the company's stock plunged as much as 13% in after-hours trading on soft guidance.
Adjusted earnings were 15 cents during the fourth quarter, ahead of estimates of 8 cents per share. Revenue of $13.7 billion topped analysts' expectations of $13.4 billion.
Intel projected first-quarter revenue between $11.7 billion and $12.7 billion, as well as breakeven adjusted earnings per share. Both were below expectations.
