Ozarks I-Day 2006 will be held 7 a.m.–4 pm. Nov. 10 at the Oasis Convention Center, 2610 N. Glenstone Ave.
Ozarks I-Day, now in its 27th year, is organized by a committee of representatives from area insurance companies and organizations, said Janet Nothnagel, executive agency coordinator at PJC Insurance and a member of Insurance Association of the Ozarks, one of the organizing groups. The event is also sponsored by several organizations and businesses.
The conference will feature a general session and breakout workshops.
There are two options for the opening session: a panel discussion or a session for Missouri State University students focused on career-building and networking. The panel discussion will be moderated by Art Chartrand, founder of the Chartrand Law Office and the National Insurance Technology Conference. Chartrand also will be the keynote luncheon speaker. Other panelists are Dale Finke, director of the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions & Professional Registration; State Rep. Brian Yates; State Sen. John Loudon; and Larry Case, executive vice president of the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents.
The students-only session will be led by Marsha Egan, an author, executive coach and CEO of The Egan Group Inc.
Workshop topics to be addressed are customer referrals, consumer fraud, identity theft, joint and several liability, client needs and premises liability cases. Workshop leaders are Springfield attorneys Robert G. Ingold of the Law Office of Robert G. Ingold and Laurel Stevenson of Franke Schultz & Mullen PC; and Travis Ford, consumer education coordinator for Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon’s office.
Conference attendees will be able to earn continuing education credits, Nothnagel said.
The cost is $65 for registration before Oct. 31 and $75 for registration after. Registration ends at 5 p.m. Nov. 8. Registration forms are available online at www.ozarksinsuranceday.com. Forms and fees should be mailed to Ozarks I-Day, PO Box 4841, Springfield, MO 65808-4841.
