'Instagram Husband' crew stars in 7-Eleven ad

Posted online

The popularity of the "Instagram Husband" spoof on YouTube has led to its stars appearing in a 7-Eleven ad.

Yesterday, 7-Eleven posted a video to its Facebook page dubbed "Food For Eating." The video, which features consumers taking photos of their food rather than eating it, is reminiscent of the "Instagram Husband" video.

It ultimately promotes the Dallas-based chain's Big Gulps and sandwiches.

As of this morning, the video had been viewed over 61,000 times.

It features “The Mystery Hour" host Jeff Houghton, as well as his wife Michelle and other Springfieldians.

Houghton told the Springfield News-Leader the video was largely shot in early March at locations in walking distance of Hotel Vandivort.

However, the video ends with Houghton at a Dallas-area 7-Eleven since the company doesn't operate any stores in Springfield.
