A new investment pitch event is coming to the Queen City this summer.
Codefi, which has offices in Springfield and Cape Girardeau, is partnering with Innovate SOMO and the Efactory to host the inaugural Invest SOMO event June 25-26, according to a news release. Innovate SOMO is an existing partnership of Missouri State University’s Efactory and Codefi.
The private pitches are slated to be held at the Efactory in downtown Springfield.
“Invest SOMO is more than just a pitch event. It’s a platform for startups to gain visibility, feedback and funding while giving investors direct access to untapped innovation from across Missouri,” Codefi President and CEO James Stapleton said in the release.
The event is designed to connect regional early-stage tech companies with angel and venture investors, as well as Innovate SOMO Funds, an investment fund that launched last year with a starting size of $2 million.
Invest SOMO on June 25 will have a pitch event for pre-seed companies generally seeking $50,000 to $250,000, followed by a seed company event on June 26 for companies looking for $250,000 to $2 million in funding, according to the release.
Stapleton previously told Springfield Business Journal that the goal is to hold pitch events every six months in Springfield.
