An event next week will allow attendees to connect with elected officials.
The event called Meet the Electeds is being hosted by the Informed Voter Coalition, of which Springfield Business Journal is a member, according to a news release. The 5-7 p.m. event on April 22 at Missouri State University's Strong Hall atrium, 900 S. Holland Ave., is free and open to the public. Parking is available in Bear Park South parking garage.
"Come meet your Greene County elected officials in-person and have conversations to learn more about the people representing you," Informed Voter Coalition officials said in the release.
The featured elected leaders are:
• Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller
• Greene County Assessor Brent Johnson
• Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Dixon
• Greene County Commissioner Rusty MacLachlan
• Springfield Public Schools Board of Education member Shurita Thomas-Tate
The Informed Voter Coalition, which was launched in 2019, is designed to educate voters and connect candidates with residents. Members are Be Civil Be Heard, Drury University, KSMU Ozarks Public Radio, Leadership Springfield, League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri, Missouri State University, NAACP Springfield, Ozarks Technical Community College, Rosie, Show Me Christian County, SBJ, Springfield-Greene County Library District and Springfield News-Leader.
