Indianapolis developer pursuing $125M downtown KC apartment plan

The Kansas City Star reports an Indianapolis developer with Kansas City roots is planning to build three separate downtown apartment projects totaling 661 units and $125 million in the Quality Hill and West Crossroads areas.

Developer Jim Thomas is seeking a 25-year property tax abatement for the entire development, which includes a six-story complex with 275 luxury apartments in the Crossroads West area and two projects, with 130 and 256 units, planned for the Quality Hill area.

The KC Star reports during the past 20 years Thomas has developed 3,500 luxury apartments in the Kansas City area.
