Indiana delegation arrives for community leadership visit

Posted online
A delegation of 29 business and community leaders from South Bend, Ind., arrived in Springfield this morning for a visit aimed at spurring development and partnership ideas.

The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is leading the two-day visit.

The group will tour the city and participate in sessions with area leaders on topics such as economic development, public/private partnership, downtown development, health care and higher education partnerships, city-county collaboration, and regional economic partnership programs.

Springfield leaders have participated in 13 similar community leadership visits in the last several years, and another is planned for this year. Previous visits have led to projects including the Ozarks Regional Economic Partnership, Jordan Valley Park and the publication of a community report card.[[In-content Ad]]
