India on Wednesday unveiled the world's tallest statue, which towers at 597 feet.
Dubbed the "Statue of Unity" the structure pays tribute to Sardar Vallabbhai Patel, the country’s first home minister after the end of British rule. It's located in Kevadiya, Gujarat.
The bronze statue reportedly cost more than $400 million. It's nearly 180 feet taller than China’s Spring Temple Buddha, which previously was the world's largest statue.
