India goes into lockdown

India initiated a 21-day lockdown for its 1.3 billion people in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Essential businesses in the country include grocery stores, banks and ATMs, gas stations and delivery of goods purchased online.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced $2 billion would be invested into the country's medical infrastructure and to treat patients infected by the virus.
