Independence City Council on March 2 approved billions of dollars in tax breaks for a data center planned on the eastern edge of the city.
The council gave the green light to a 90% tax abatement that gives $6.3 billion in tax breaks over 20 years.
Netherlands-based technology company Nebius is behind the plans for the data center.
