Starbucks Corp. unveiled a bold new expansion plan in the Chinese market.
The coffee chain announced it would seek to open a new store every 15 hours through 2022. By that time, it hopes to have 6,000 stores open on the mainland.
“China has a long runway of opportunity for Starbucks," Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said. “We can’t control what happens in the geopolitical situation. We are not immune to it, but we take a long-term view.”
