The International Monetary Fund slashed its global growth forecast amid ongoing tensions between the United States and its trade partners.
The IMF now predicts 3.7 percent growth in the global economy during 2018 and 2019, down 0.2 percentage points from an earlier forecast.
Maurice Obstfeld, IMF chief economist, said earlier predictions now appear to be "over-optimistic" because of "further disruptions in trade policies."
