The Institute of Management Accountants announced July 19 a new partnership with the firm of Robert Half International Inc.
This agreement will give IMA members special access to the resources of the largest career placement firm of its kind, according to a release from IMA. The agreement calls for RHI to become IMA's "national career partner."
RHI will provide career development resources and services to IMA's 70,000 members and the organization's 300 chapters, including:
Developing with IMA a series of highly interactive Web sites for IMA members only. These sites will feature job search, rsum posting and skill-matching capability.
Working together to emphasize the value of IMA's certified management accountant (CMA) and certified in financial management (CFM) designations.
Launching a career-mentoring program to strengthen services to student members and others.
Creating an IMA-member-only personal career-assessment tool, available online on both national and chapter Web sites.
Assisting IMA chapters in developing membership initiatives and custom-tailored, career-oriented chapter programming.
These initiatives are only the beginning of a long-term commitment by IMA to develop resources that support members' career development and advancement, IMA stated.
"We are excited about the opportunities that this new agreement with the nation's largest specialized staffing services firm affords the IMA," said Frank Minter, IMA president, in the release.
"Having RHI as our national career partner strengthens our existing certification and membership programs and will allow IMA members special access to RHI's outstanding career development resources," he added.
"We are pleased to work with the leading professional organization devoted exclusively to management accounting and financial management," said Max Messmer, chairman and chief executive officer of Robert Half International.
"Supporting the IMA and its membership allows us to demonstrate our commitment to professional development. We look forward to sharing Robert Half International's long-standing staffing expertise with financial professionals across the country," Messmer added.
The IMA is the largest management accounting association in the world, with more than 70,000 members worldwide.
Founded in 1919 as an educational organization, the IMA's charter is to expand the professionalism of financial managers and executives involved in corporate accounting and financial management.
