Ikea store planned for Memphis

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea announced it is planning to open its first store in the Mid-South in Memphis, Tenn.

The store is expected to open in fall 2016 and create 225 jobs, according to the Memphis Business Journal.

The company is hoping to secure an undisclosed incentives package to build its 269,000-square-foot location on vacant land along Interstate 40.
