Ikea selects location for first St. Louis store

Swedish retailer Ikea has reportedly selected a site for its first store in St. Louis.

Ikea has selected a site at the corner of Forest Park and Vandeventer avenues, according to two individuals close to the project. An announcement is expected on Wednesday, the St. Louis Business Journal reports.

Ikea broke ground in July on a 359,000-square-foot store in the Kansas City area. The store, about 257 miles from St. Louis, is set to open in the fall of 2014.
