Husch Blackwell Sanders to merge with Chicago firm

Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP is planning to merge with Chicago-based Welsh & Katz Ltd., a move that would double the size of Husch Blackwell Sanders’ intellectual property practice group, the companies announced Monday.

Welsh & Katz has 45 lawyers and specializes in the high-technology, biotech and pharmaceutical fields, according to a news release.

A. Sidney Katz will serve as chair of the firm’s national intellectual property group and co-chair of the Chicago office. The combined firm in Chicago will be named Husch Blackwell Sanders Welsh & Katz.

Kansas City-based Husch Blackwell Sanders has 630 attorneys at offices in 14 cities, including Springfield.[[In-content Ad]]
