Husch Blackwell LLP Managing Partner Gary Powell has been named president of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association.
Powell practices primarily in trusts and estates, tax, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law. His client base consists largely of business owners and people in estate, and business planning and transactions, according to a Jan. 27 news release.
Powell has more than 30 years experience in the industry and is also a member of Husch Blackwell's partner board.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and past chairman of the Missouri Bar Taxation Law Committee, according to Husch Blackwell's
Web site.
The
SMBA has more than 900 attorney members and provides networking and educational opportunities throughout southwest Missouri. The organization was founded in 1903.
Presidential candidates are selected by an SMBA Board of Directors nominating committee and voted on by SMBA members. Powell served as president-elect in 2010, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
