Hurricane Ian insurance losses projected to reach up to $40B

Hurricane Ian is projected to bring insurance losses as high as $40 billion.

That's according to Insurance Information Institute spokesperson Loretta Worters, who put the range at $20 billion to $40 billion.

Hurricane Charley, which followed a similar path through Florida in 2004, caused $16 billion in property damages.
