'Hunger Games' propels Lionsgate to strong 2013 finish

Led by "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," the second installment of the blockbuster trilogy, Lionsgate Entertainment finished among the top five U.S. movie studios for the second straight year.

Of the $1 billion grossed at the domestic box office this year, $372 million of it came from "Hunger Games," the year's second-highest grossing film behind Buena Vista's "Iron Man 3," according to Fox News.

The first movie of the franchise, "The Hunger Games" grossed $408 million for Lionsgate in 2012.
