Trucking companies are failing at about double the rate this year compared with 2018, according to data firm Broughton Capital.
Donald Broughton, principal and managing partner of the firm, told Fox Business that 640 trucking companies shut down during the first half of 2019. That compares with 310 companies that failed during all of 2018.
Broughton cited a drop in shipping prices and the impact of trade tariffs, among other factors.
