Humana, one of the country’s largest health insurers, is weighing a potential sale of itself after having been approached by several competitors, people briefed on the matter told the New York Times on Friday.
No firm decisions have been made.
Responding to news the insurer hired Goldman Sachs to help it consider a deal, shares of Humana reached an all-time high on Friday. Shares of rivals Aetna and Cigna also rose sharply.
