This project is an 8,325-square-foot, single-story addition with a basement for Cox Medical Plaza II. It will accommodate a third linear accelerator and a future fourth unit. |ret||ret||tab|

The completed space will accommodate a larger waiting area, additional exam rooms, offices and support services. The structural system for the new cancer center is independent of the existing Medical Plaza II building; therefore, the existing facility did not have to be retrofitted to meet the current code requirements set by IBC 2000. A six-foot expansion joint is provided to allow the two buildings to move independently of each other in the event of seismic activity. |ret||ret||tab|
