O'Fallon, Illinois-based HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital is expanding to the tune of $116 million.
The investment includes a revamp of the hospital's emergency department, more patient rooms and a new surgery center.
Michael Janis, chief operating officer of HSHS Southern Illinois, said the health system has outgrown its space.
