HP to cut up to 30,000 jobs

Hewlett-Packard announced plans yesterday to slash another 25,000 to 30,000 jobs.

The cuts are part of HP's breakup into two separate publicly traded companies. The company to be called HP Enterprise, which would focus on cloud technology and cyber security, would make the cuts. HP Inc. would sell slower-growth products such as PCs and printers.

Since HP CEO Meg Whitman took the helm in 2011, the company has eliminated around 55,000 jobs, not including the most recent announcement.
