How this startup landed a deal with Cartoon Network

St. Louis-based startup Pixel Press last year raised $108,950 in a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, but that’s not all. During the campaign, according to the St. Louis Business Journal, Pixel Press CEO Robin Rath heard from Cartoon Network executives with partnership interests.

Now, the business journal reports, Pixel Press is producing a create-your-own video game app for Cartoon Network’s “Adventure Time” program, its most-watched show with 3.1 million viewers per episode in 2013.

According to the business journal, Pixel Press is publishing the app and sharing revenues with Cartoon Network.

To date, Pixel Press has raised nearly $700,000, the bulk of it coming in a recent fundraising round that netted a half-million-dollar investment by Chicago-based The Chaifetz Group.
