Housing, food costs on the rise

Now that you’ve filed and, hopefully, paid your taxes, you can start saving your money to pay for food and housing.

According to reporting by CNNMoney, the Consumer Price Index increased to 0.2 percent in March and is now at 1.5 percent for the year. The biggest increases are for food and shelter.

The food index shot up to 0.4 percent last month as a result of record-high prices for beef. The cost for medical care, clothes and plane tickets also went up. The price for gasoline, however, went down slightly.
