Housing development funding discussion comes to Springfield

Posted online
The Missouri Housing Development Commission will hold public hearings at four different locations on four nights in November to discuss the 114 affordable housing development proposals submitted by developers for 2007.

Hearings are planned for Springfield, Kansas City, St. Louis and Columbia. The Springfield public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 at the University Plaza (Arkansas Room), 333 John Q. Hammons Parkway.

MHDC issued notification of funding availability in August. Developers submitted 32 proposals for the Springfield area, including four in Springfield, three each in Joplin, Lebanon, Ozark and Reeds Spring, and two in Neosho.

MHDC administers rental housing production programs, including the federal and state low-income housing tax credits and federal HOME funds.

At the public hearing, MHDC staff will describe the development(s) under consideration, and accept and record public comments.

Any interested party may attend the hearing to submit verbal or written comments. Parties may also submit written comments to Missouri Housing Development Commission, 3435 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111, or through the office of the mayor or chief elected official of the city in which the development is located. Comments also may be sent by e-mail to information@mhdc.com and should include the full name, address and phone number of the individual making the comments.

A detailed list of developments proposed throughout the state is available on the Web at http://www.mhdc.com/.

The hearings wrap up in Columbia on Nov. 16.[[In-content Ad]]
