Republican House and Senate leaders yesterday came to an agreement on their versions of a tax overhaul plan.
The agreement paves the way for final votes next week, according to The Associated Press.
Among the changes, the deal would cut the top tax rate for the wealthy from 39.6 percent to 37 percent, drop the corporate rate to 21 percent and allow homeowners to deduct interest on the first $750,000 of a new mortgage.
