The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a sweeping voting and ethics bill.
The 220-210 vote was mostly along party lines for the legislation that would restrict partisan gerrymandering and strike down voting hurdles.
The bill has a more difficult route in the Senate, where it has little chance of passing without changes to procedural rules that currently would allow Republicans to block it.
