House committee approves marijuana bill

The House Judiciary Committee yesterday approved a bill that would legalize marijuana on the federal level.

With a 24-10 vote, the committee forwarded the legislation that would remove marijuana from the controlled substances list.

Approval seems likely in the House but not so much in the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell opposes marijuana legalization, CNBC reports.
