Hotel may be turned into homeless shelter near KC

Johnson County, Kansas, is considering the use of federal COVID-19 relief funding to convert a hotel into a homeless shelter.

The county near Kansas City may spend $6.5 million to purchase a Lenexa hotel.

The county's proposal would create a year-round homeless shelter with around 50 private rooms.
