Hostess to sharpen advertising focus

Lenexa, Kansas-based Hostess Brands Inc. pledged to sharpen its advertising focus away from young children.

The company announced it would not advertise to children under the age of 13 except in instances when ads comply with the Children’s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative’s Uniform Nutrition Criteria.

Nineteen other food, beverage and quick-service restaurant companies have made the pledge, as well.
