Posted online
St. Louis-based engineering firm Horner & Shifrin Inc. announced Sept. 1 it has opened a regional office in Springfield at 4166 W. Kearney St.

Springfield engineer Kevin Skibiski, former senior vice president and chief operating officer of OS Engineering LLC, has been hired as associate vice president and office manager. He will be responsible for all projects undertaken by the local office, as well as sales and marketing, according to a news release.

Skibiski is a member of the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors and Landscape Architects. He earned his bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering and is a registered professional engineer in 40 states as well as a registered professional land surveyor in Missouri, the release said.

“The strategic location of our Springfield office, staffed by a civil engineer and a technician from the area, will allow us to better serve and grow our southwest Missouri client base,” Horner & Shifrin President William Clarke said in the release.

There are currently two employees at the Springfield location, but plans are to hire more after settling in to the new building, Skibiski said in a phone interview.

Horner & Shifrin is an employee-owned firm with offices in St. Louis and O'Fallon, Ill. and 78 personnel.[[In-content Ad]]
