Hopkins to pay $190M after doc taped pelvic exams

Posted online
A male gynecologist at Johns Hopkins Health System secretly filmed and took pictures during pelvic exams with female patients and now, the hospital is paying for it.

A $190 million settlement with victims to be exact.

The Associated Press reports the "rogue" gynecologist used a small pen-like camera to record hundreds of videos and photos of his patients' sex organs with some 8,000 women and girls.

Dr. Nikita Levy was fired in February 2013 after a co-worker reported him. He committed suicide days later.

AP reports authorities found more than 1,200 videos and 140 images stored on computers in his home.

The settlement is one of the largest on record involving sexual misconduct by a physician. Hopkins insurance will cover the cost.
