Hood-Rich Inc. is the architect, structural engineer and interior designer for the addition to the indoor tennis courts at Cooper Tennis Complex, 2331 E. Pythian. Jack K. Hood is the project architect and Guy A. Wilkerson is the structural engineer. Norman Goth of Smith-Goth Engineers Inc. is the mechanical and electrical engineer. Jana Funk, architect and interior designer with Hood-Rich is handling the interior design for the project, which has an estimated cost of $3.4 million. R.E. Smith Construction of Joplin is the general contractor for the addition, which is scheduled for completion next summer. The addition is the final phase outlined in the master plan developed in 1986 by Hood-Rich. It includes the addition of six indoor tennis courts with a mezzanine at one end. There also is a large meeting room and a lobby with kitchen, vending and storage areas and more restrooms. Existing locker rooms will be renovated and remodeled.
