Honesty, Team Member Satisfaction Key Virtues at Air Services/All Service

Posted online

As dissatisfaction rises among many American workers, those employed at Air Services Heating and Cooling/All Service Professional Plumbing are feeling the complete opposite. To a person, the small sample of team members interviewed noted that they have zero complaints about their employer or any aspect of the jobs they do. “I love it here” and “I’m never leaving” were said more than once.

Not only does the company offer the standard paid benefits of health, dental, vision, life insurance and long-term disability, technicians also receive a tool allowance, paid vacation and holidays. Scheduling is also very flexible with the option to work four days on/four days off and the understanding that when a team member needs time to take care of their family, they’ll be covered. “We want employees to be able to have balance between work and home,” said General Manager Rachel Fears. “While we want everyone to get 40 hours, and overtime will pop up on occasion, we do not want to run them into the ground. Family is very important here.”

Happy Team Members
HVAC technician Christian Bejarano was amazed at the high standards of the company right from the start and mentioned those high standards apply to the work, the customers and to each other. “You know the work is going to be done right. It’s a great environment and everyone is willing to help train and teach.” He noted that trades like HVAC repair and plumbing are jobs that will always be necessary. “If anyone is looking for a great career with the potential to grow and do something that people will always need, this is the job. I can’t say enough about the mutual respect that everyone has from the top down.”

Plumbing technician Joshua Ohmer said he was inexperienced when he joined the company and was surprised by the degree of technology that’s integrated into the trades. “I was pretty green when I came on, but the training is very thorough,” he said. Like Bejarano, he also mentioned the high standards and morality of the company. “Their desire to be held to a higher standard is the thing that sticks out the most for me.”

Tiffany Roberts is a pod leader/dispatcher who’s been with the company for four years and has nothing but high praise. “I absolutely love working here,” she said. “I work with some great people who really give it their all. They just want you to succeed.” Roberts also mentioned that the general vibe at the company is always pleasant. “The people I work with are really awesome. Everyone is always willing to help however they can.”

HVAC technician Miranda Vanderputten said she’s been most impressed with the efforts for diversity and inclusion at Air Services/All Service. “In past jobs, there wasn’t much recognition of hard work but it’s the exact opposite here,” she said. “If you work hard, they take notice; if you show initiative, they take notice.” She said another thing she admires about the company is that high standard and honesty. “They really drive home that first and foremost, our job is to do right by the customer. I know that attitude carries over and they will do the exact same for me as an employee.” She also mentioned team spirit and a sense of healthy competition that drives team members like her to do their best, and that the company regularly brings in specialists to train them in anything they want or need to know.

Apprenticeship Program
In partnership with the United States Department of Labor, Air Services Heating and Cooling/All Service Professional Plumbing founded an apprenticeship program for those looking to go into the trades. Fourteen people have completed the three-year apprentice program since it was founded in 2019. There are now 15 active apprentices in the program.
