Honea promoted to deputy city manager

Posted online
Springfield Assistant City Manager Evelyn Honea, a 25-year city employee, has been promoted to deputy city manager.

Honea has been Springfield’s assistant city manager since February 2005. She is a certified public accountant whose other positions with the city have included assistant director of finance and director of information systems.

Honea fills the position left open when Bob Cumley became city manager in spring 2006, following the retirement of former city manager Tom Finnie. She is responsible for day-to-day operations of all city departments and will serve as acting city manager in Cumley’s absence.

Honea has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of North Texas and a master’s degree in public administration from Missouri State University.

Collin Quigley, former Ozark city administrator, began working Aug. 6 as Springfield’s assistant city manager.
