And the leader of the 2015 SUV pack is the Honda CR-V, declares Motor Trend magazine.
CNNMoney reports the revamped, if not fully redesigned, CR-V beat out 18 competitors to get the nod as SUV of the Year. The improvement that earned the CR-V top honors is its "continuously variable transmission," according to the report, which allows the transmission to vary gear ratios depending on power needs.
Better gas mileage, a more "dynamic" driving experience and a range of improved safety features also helped the CR-V beat out contenders including the Porsche Cayman, Lincoln MKC and BMW's X4 and X5.
