Mirowski Inspections LLC today finalized its acquisition of Guardian Home Inspections LLC.
President Steve Mirowski, who co-owns Mirowski Inspections at 331 E. Water St., Ste. 107, with his wife and operations manager Dana, declined to disclose the terms of the deal. He said the transaction involved the purchase of Guardian’s equipment and the addition of owner Scott Sharp to his staff as an inspector.
“I was ready to get out of the 70 to 80 hours a week involved with running my own business,” Sharp said.
Mirowski said while Sharp’s LLC is to be dissolved, Mirowski Inspections acquired Guardian’s phone line and website as part of the deal in order to transition customers to the new company.
“In this business, you get a following and a reputation, so we’ll be scheduling on his behalf for him,” Mirowski said, noting Guardian has a 19-year history in the Springfield area. “We’re alerting his customers as they call that they’ll be receiving confirmations from Mirowski as he now works for us.”
The Mirowskis met Sharp in 2005 when he performed the couple’s home inspection when they moved to Springfield from Fond du Lac, Wis. Steve Mirowski said at the time he sought Sharp out as an American Society of Home Inspectors-certified inspector and to avoid a perceived conflict of interest. Mirowski started his company in Wisconsin in 2000.
“We thought it was a great transition for him because when he had a company, all the accounting and day-to-day operations fell on his shoulders,” Mirowski said. “This is an opportunity for him to focus on being a home inspector.”
With Sharp on board, Mirowski now employs 11, including seven inspectors.
Mirowski Inspections also provides thermal imaging, termite, septic and well inspections, water and mold sampling, indoor air quality testing, and asbestos and lead paint tests.
