Home Depot investigating possible data breach

Home Depot Inc. is working with banks and law enforcement agencies to investigate a potential breach of customer credit or debit card data.

On Tuesday, the home improvement retailer said it was looking into unusual activity, but didn't confirm a breach. The company said customers would be notified immediately if a breach is found, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Company officials wouldn't say more precisely what was being investigated, when the unusual activity was discovered or how many stores might have been affected.
