Scott Kisling of Up-Tyte Construction was named HBA Builder Member of the Year. The association noted his efforts on the 2007 Dream Home for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, which raised more than $600,000. He also was recognized for his work as chair of the Codes Committee and his work with Christian County officials to help with building code adoption.
The HBA Associate Member of the Year award went to Don Bearden of Bearden Carpets. Bearden donated all the floor coverings for the St. Jude’s Dream Home and provided professional consultation and advice at no charge.
Stereo One was named Associate Company of the Year for its work both on the media room in the Dream Home and its audio-visual work in the board room of HBA’s new offices.

• HBA Charitable Foundation Volunteer of the Year: Scott Hopkins, KWAL Paint;
• HBA Hall of Fame Inductee: Don Stewart, retired homebuilder;
• Coalition for Building a Better Tomorrow Volunteer of the Year: Terry Ozborn, Ozborn Homes;
• Administrative Support Person of the Year: Cherie Houston, Hansen’s Tree Service;
• Manager of the Year: Terry Speake, Beaman Electric;
• Foreman of the Year: Sebastian Cantu, Kevin Clingan Home Design & Construction;
• Salesperson of the Year: Ginger Clark, Southern Materials;
• Supplier of the Year: JAG Architectural Products; and
• Media Partner of the Year: Greater Springfield Board of Realtors.
This was the second year for the event. The 2006 awards banquet earned a national award last month for best member recognition program in the country among similar-sized HBAs.
