Hollywood films on track for worst summer in a decade

The Hollywood film industry is likely to post its worst summer box-office returns in more than a decade.

As of Aug. 27, North American box-office receipts during the summer were down 14 percent compared with last year.

The top 12 films brought in roughly $50.7 million, according to comScore, a media measurement company.
