Construction is in the final stages for the new Hollister R-5 School District high school, which is expected to be ready for classes in August. Don Crawford Construction of Marshfield is the general contractor on the project, and Jack Ball & Associates is the project architect. The $9 million facility comprises more than 100,000 square feet and will be able to accommodate up to 500 students, according to Hollister Superintendent Brett Reese. The building should help ease the district’s overcrowding problem and is also designed for future expansion. Hollister voters approved a bond issue in April 2003 to fund construction.
