Holiday sales were up at the quickest pace in 17 years, according to a report from Mastercard SpendingPulse.
Sales rose 8.5% during the period of Nov. 1 through Dec. 24, with items such as clothing and jewelry leading the way.
Data show holiday sales were up 10.7% compared with the pre-pandemic 2019 holiday period.
