Holiday retail sales may rise as much as 4.2%

The National Retail Federation is estimating U.S. holiday retail sales will climb by 3.8% to 4.2%.

That would mean total sales of $727.9 billion to $730.7 billion.

During the past five years, holiday retail sales have grown by an average of 3.7%.
