Clothing retailer H&M opened its doors at Battlefield Mall, eight months after the store was announced.
The shop's first day was yesterday, according to Battlefield Mall General Manager Michael Martin.
There was a "terrific initial response and a positive opening weekend is expected," he said via email.
H&M in January signed on to occupy roughly 20,000 square feet in the mall owned by Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG). The retailer takes over space previously occupied by On the Ball, Trinkets and Visionworks, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Officially Hennes & Mauritz Inc., Sweden-based H&M is known for its “fashion-forward apparel” for women and men, according to its website. It has roughly 5,000 stores, including a location at Branson Landing. It has around a dozen stores in Missouri.
